The Story Behind the Shop

The Outlet

After years of service and years of counseling — one-on-one sessions, group therapy — I found that the one thing that truly helped was creating something with my hands.

Precision engraving became my outlet. The focus required to operate these machines, the satisfaction of turning a raw piece of metal or wood into something meaningful for someone — that is what keeps me grounded.

When someone asks me to create a custom plaque honoring their loved one, or a retirement award for a fellow veteran, the process of designing and fabricating that piece gives me purpose and relief.

My goal is to eventually teach other veterans that this craft can be their outlet too — a path to healing through creation.
